At GuardRailz, we value the privacy and safety of our users, including children. Types of Personal Information Collected:
Children are not able to create an account on Guardrailz, parents can add children to their account. If a child attempts to register, we collect a date of birth, parent first name and parent email address
With a registered account, parents can provide the following information about their child (Sub User):
- Username
- Pin/Passcode
- Date of birth
- Grade level
- Religious consideration
Before adding children to an account, parents must verify their identity using our trusted partner, Veriff. Veriff will collect a photo and copy of Government issued ID. Please visit Veriff’s website for more information about their collection and use practices.
With an account, children will be able to chat with the service. Parents will have access to the child’s full chat log. All chat communications are moderated for appropriate content and personal information before being shared with Open AI. Parents can choose to review content in email, text alerts or in the dashboard if the moderation algorithm detects inappropriate content or personal information.
We use the data collected when a child is added, as well as questions about a child’s interests, favorite sports, favorite tv shows, favorite movies and a writing sample to help align the AI’s answers with your child’s age level and understanding.
We invite all our users to use our feedback and flagging system if the content should or should not have been flagged. These flags and feedback are reviewed by the Guardrailz team.
We collect the following technical information from children visiting the website:

- Device brand
- Device model

How We Use Your Child's Personal Information:
We use your child's personal information to provide and improve our services, respond to their inquiries, and communicate with them. We use a child’s chat records to help us understand user interactions better, which in turn facilitates the development and refinement of our AI models.
We do not sell or share your child's personal information with third parties. The messages and inquiries sent via our platform are not used to train the language models being used to provide the service. In certain situations, personal information might need to be retained for legal reasons or reporting to authorities in the interest of public safety. In these cases, we follow a pre-agreed policy and process to manage such scenarios. We ensure that this is done in accordance with legal requirements and with the utmost respect for the user's privacy.
All chat and search history is retained for the life of the active subscription or one year after the last payment is received, whichever is longer. This includes AI chat entries and responses, as well as web search and media (image, video, audio) creation entries and responses.
Service providers used in relation to children
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to collect information about how you or your child use the service and to help provide the best experience possible. These services collect the technical information listed in the Types of Personal Information Collected section and are restricted from sharing this data with any other third parties.
While we at GuardRailz prioritize user privacy and data security, it is necessary for us to share chat records with a few trusted internal use platforms to execute and improve our service. These platforms include OpenAI, EdenAI, Microsoft Azure, and any other current or future AI models used to provide the service, which assist us in providing and refining our AI capabilities, as well as backend data management tool Xano, and our primary platform Bubble.io. However, it's important to stress that this data sharing is exclusively for the internal operation and enhancement of our services. We do not use the data for marketing purposes, nor do we resell the data. We remain committed to ensuring that all user interactions and data are handled with the utmost respect for privacy and security.
